Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established FMCG business based within Ledbury, Herefordshire to recruit for an experienced and hands-on Accountant. Reporting directly into the Head Of Finance this is a unique opportunity overseeing a small and close-knit accounting team. Your new role

Your key duties will involve, supervision of a small accounting team, including, credit controller, purchase and sales ledger controllers, preparing/posting month-end journals, monitoring cash flows and working capital along with submission of VAT returns. You will complete year-end schedules for external auditors, complete monthly accounts and financial reports including balance sheet, profit, and loss and cashflow statements. You will prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, support financial audit and be involved in government surveys/reporting when needed. You will improve/implement new accounting and reporting processes, drive improvements throughout the business and assist the Head of Finance with ad-hoc projects/duties.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this unique Accountant opportunity you will need experience within a similar role, previous financial accounting experience, knowledge of financial regulations/legislation with excellent numeracy and analytical skills. You will have high attention to detail, strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships and be a strong problem solver. You will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience. Experience within the FMCG or Manufacturing sector along with knowledge of MS Navision with be advantageous but not essential.
