We're looking for a Finance Manager (3 Month long term cover) to join a growing Finance team in Bournemouth.

Your new company
You will be joining a supportive education group, reporting into the School Deputy Finance Director, supported by the wider groups finance team. This is a fantastic Term-Time Only role, hybrid, full time for 39 working weeks per year, giving you great flexibility to have the summer off whether to be with the kids or just for yourself!


Your new role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the full Finance function runs smoothly, ensuring that budget holders and non-financial colleagues and supported in a proactive and supportive way. You will be helping to develop and implement improvements to existing finance systems being part of a culture of continuous improvement.

The role will require the candidate to have a proactive approach towards the financial and administrative services which will include but not be limited to the preparation of the budgets and reporting on its expenditure and income. You will assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll, ensuring that queries are dealt with efficiently. You will also prepare the monthly management accounts and help maintain the Purchase and Sales Ledgers.

The role requires the use of initiative and the ability to manage time effectively and support the team of core staff to ensure a safe, healthy, clean and comfortable living environment for students and staff. You will assist management with all issues relating to general household practices and associated services related to welfare of the students. A DBS will also be required upon a successful application.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of preparing
  • Experience of Payroll
  • Experience of working effectively as a finance administrator
  • Experience of managing ones own time.
  • Solid IT Skills (Predominantly Excel)
  • Act as a valuable professional in the core team
  • Have a polite and friendly approach
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships
  • Due to spending 1 day at each of the 3 school sites each week having a car is beneficial.



What you'll get in return
A competitive rate of £20-25 per hour + holiday (Dependent on Experience). Hybrid is on offer up to 2 days work from home then 1 day on each of the 3 school sites. Term time only position, Free on-site parking, Career progression potential.
