Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting the team with 1-2 direct reports initially, deputising for the Financial Controller as required and overseeing a broad range of accounting tasks undertaken by the wider finance team.

Key accountabilities will include:

· Preparation of the monthly management accounts with variance analysis & commentary

· Business partnering with various business units and stakeholders within the parent company

- Involvement in commercial projects to facilitate improved business performance

· Review of company accounts and working with external auditors to complete and file in a timely manner

· Assisting with preparation of year end financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards

· Overseeing the intercompany matrix and related party transactions· Involvement in improving day-to-day accounting procedures and controls· Assisting with VAT reporting, Intrastats, EC Sales, CT return and payroll reporting

Profile

The role offers a diverse and exciting prospect to lead a team with a mixture of levels of qualification and the opportunity to progress within the business in the medium to longer term.

We are particularly keen to identify candidates with the following experience and attributes:

- Qualified accountant

- Aspirations & capability to lead others

- Interested in gaining exposure to commercial tasks / ad-hoc projects alongside financial accounting

- Confident in presenting technical information to a variety of stakeholders, including non-financial professionals and colleagues at all levels in an engaging manner

- Strong Excel and systems skills

- Multi-currency experience preferred

- Effective communicator, both written and verbal

- Team player

- Energetic self-starter with a proactive approach

- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the big picture

Job Offer

In return for your commitment, dedication and contribution to making a fantastic team even better, you will receive an attractive salary in the £55,000-£60,000 range depending on experience, in addition to an extensive range of benefits including private healthcare, matched pension contributions up to 8%, product discounts and much more. There is also a clear pathway for progression to FC level and/or into commercial finance/FP&A, depending on preferences.
