Interim FC role starting ASAP for 6 months
only 2 days per week required in the office
£70,000- £75,000 salary

Your new role
We are currently recruiting for an interim financial controller role for a manufacturing business.
This role is starting ASAP- so we need someone who is available in the next few weeks to have a handover before the Christmas break.

You must be full qualified & have a manufacturing background/ industry experience to apply to the role.

  • To support the Senior Director - F&A in maintaining the highest standards of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Reporting key financial data into the Group Financial Controller
  • Preparing, developing, and analysing key financial information to aid the business in making well-informed decisions

Essential:
  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified with over two years PQE
  • Proven working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS with strong reporting and financial accounting experience
  • ISO 9001 QMS experience
  • Advanced Excel User
  • Comprehensive knowledge of working with ERP systems and ability to assimilate new software quickly
  • Self-motivating, deadline-driven and can work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive and dynamic attitude to problem solving, with ability to use initiative and common sense; the role is in a team with ambitious improvement plans and as such will require the successful candidate to be adaptive to changing requests and ways of working


Job Details:

  • Directly manage a team of 3 people who control the statutory and taxation functions of the group. Indirectly manage the AR and AP teams (2 in each team)
  • Maintain General Ledger; ensure all control and other balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly, and investigate unusual transactions promptly
  • Treasury management including Accounts Receivable factoring management
  • Manage cash flow forecast and communicate to relevant stakeholders effectively
  • Manage Fixed Assets Registry and depreciation, and improve FA process
  • Manage VAT reporting and processes in compliance with VAT legislation, and maintain up to date knowledge of VAT legislation and changes
  • Responsible for the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure policies, process maps and process notes are documented and updated properly
  • Monitor and record non-conformities and implement corrective plan as necessary
  • Proactively identify system and process improvements and opportunities to add value to the business and work to implement change as necessary
  • Support the Financial Controller to ensure robust internal control in the business
  • Assisting in preparation of budget and forecast
  • Prepare tax schedule and reporting
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are in place and all required returns are filed appropriately
  • Responsible for preparation of half year & year-end accounts and statutory accounts
  • Responsible for coaching and developing a strong financial accounting team to achieve consistently high performance with good team morale
  • Support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and other teams as required
  • Liaison with external auditors and ensure required support is provided to external audit
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis, and carry out ad-hoc project work as required by the business
