  • 3 months initially but likely to extend
  • Only 2 days per week required on site/ in the office
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified - extensive experience post qualification and a strong technical understanding of IFRS / FRS102 accounting standards
  • Previous financial reporting experience of a complex group consolidation is essential.

The Head of Group Reporting is a key role within the business, providing leadership and direction to the core finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Group Reporting leads a highly skilled team and owns all elements of the financial reporting cycle with responsibility for the delivery of high quality reporting for the group, joint ventures and subsidiaries.

It's a hands-on role, working closely with other teams across finance as well as senior business leaders to influence key decisions. As a member of the Finance Leadership Team, the Head of Group Reporting is vital in developing the capabilities of the finance team and building relationships across the business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the month end process and consolidation of the group and joint ventures accounts, ensuring the financial reporting complies with all reporting requirements
  • Manage external financial reporting for the group, its joint ventures and subsidiaries, including the relationship with external auditors
  • Develop and improve reporting to meet the changing requirements of investors, through benchmarking against industry standards and best practice
  • Be the accounting policy sponsor and gatekeeper: Manage the group's accounting policies, including the communication and updates to the business
  • Prepare technical accounting papers and reporting to the Audit Committee
  • Advise on the treatment of transactions, to ensure that transactions and changes in accounting standards are appropriately implemented and reflected in the group's accounting policies and results
  • Implement the accounting impact of structure changes as a result of tax restructuring, refinancing or other property deals within the group
  • Enhance the use of our ERP and consolidation systems, driving change and embedding new systems
  • Work closely with the other Heads of within Finance to deliver the strategy and ensure strong employee engagement, personal development and succession planning
  • Be a trusted peer to the finance leaders and a key deputy to the Finance Director
  • Lead ad hoc financial projects

Essential skills required:
  • The ability to work and lead in a fast paced, high change environment and to manage multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A high achiever who sets and demands high standards for both themselves and their team
  • Someone who is pro-active and able to be hands on in the detail where required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholder at various levels
  • Able to understand complex business issues and quickly draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified - extensive experience post qualification and a strong technical understanding of IFRS / FRS102 accounting standards
  • Previous financial reporting experience of a complex group consolidation is essential. Experience of and exposure to different investment structures, including joint ventures, multiple SPVs and off shore unit trusts is preferable
