FTC -Compliance Business Partner-SOX Testing

Your new company
A well known business based in the Bristol area offering a long term fixed term contract assignment to cover an internal secondment. (18m to 2 years duration) There is a low travel requirement of c10% to France.

Your new role

Your new role requires a collaborative and hands-on candidate who is familiar with the internal control requirements of US listed entities. You will be responsible for the coordination and testing of SOX controls owned in the UK and a site in France.
Alongside the SOX activities you will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to further optimise and standardise control operations and provide a compliance business partnering service to the Business Units.

• Coordination and managing SOX testing as the key point of contact within the group
• Ensuring any remediation activities are appropriate and executed in a timely manner
• Where a new site is brought in to scope, managing the implementation project, monitoring and reporting
• Deploying a continuous improvement mindset to constantly assess the efficiency of control processes
• Taking ownership of and performing SOX controls that exist at the business group level
• Supporting the change agenda to ensure compliance is always considered
• Identifying any SOX impact as a result of changes to; processes, regulations, internal policies, system enhancements, company reorganisations, and making decisions on mitigating actions as necessary
• Building and developing relationships with Business Units

What you'll need to succeed

• Relevant qualification in Accounting and/or Audit (ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA) or Professional certification (CIA/ CPA)
• Knowledge of Internal Controls and SOX regulations
• Minimum 5 years' experience in financial compliance i.e. SOX, internal controls/ internal or external audit
• Knowledge of accounting standard requirements; USGAAP and IFRS preferable
• A solid understanding of IT systems (SAP preferable)
• Excellent communication skills in English are required, French language skills would be an asset
