Accounts Payable Manager - Working within a School
1-2 days working from home
£Negotiable (£44K +)
Managing a team of 5 AP's + AP Supervisor
30 holidays + 8 BH + can buy up to 15 days (To use in School holidays)

Job Purpose:

Lead and manage the Accounts Payable department, ensuring that supplier invoices and statements are processed to allow timely reconciliation and payment of all transactions, whist ensuring robust controls are in place to mitigate fraud risk.

Duties:
* Ensure effective design and operation of processes and controls within the Accounts Payable department including processes in relation to Supplier Masterfile data management and to ensure all payments made are valid and accurate, and risks of errors and payments to fraudsters are mitigated.
* Ensure policies and procedures in relation to Accounts Payable processes are clearly documented.
* Ensure departmental and organisational processes and policies are always adhered to.
* Engage with non-finance staff across the organisation to drive adherence to Accounts Payable related process across the wider organization, for example to drive compliance with the requirement for Purchase Orders to be raised, receipt of goods to be recorded Template - Job Description and Person Specification 2 in a timely manner and invoices to be approved for payment in a timely and accurate manner.
* Stay up to date with Accounts Payable trends and consider how these may impact on the trust's policies and procedures, making changes to the trust's processes wherever necessary or beneficial.
* Monitor, interpret and act upon management information reporting and devise new reporting as required, in order to monitor and maximise the performance of the department.
* Work proactively to maximise benefits from the trust's newly implemented accounts payable software (Yooz, integrated with Sage Intacct).
* Recruit, manage and train members of the Account Payable team, setting and reviewing targets and developing team members through use of SMART objectives, pro-actively managing the team's performance.
* Co-ordinate regular supplier payment runs to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Support the cash forecasting process with the Financial Controller and Financial Accountant.
* Monthly reconciliation of department balance sheet accounts including control accounts and provision of reports for the financial month end process including KPIs.
* Completion of various statistical returns and reports including Payment Practices and Performance Reporting. * Support on projects and system upgrades as required.
* Support the Accounts Payable team with reconciliation of complex supplier accounts. Manage key supplier relationships.
* Resolve final demands as soon as possible.
* Manual journal posting as required.
* Use a cloud-based help desk management solution to receive documents, monitor progress and reporting.
* Other duties, as reasonably required.
