Working within a supportive and high performing finance team, this is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing, AIM listed business in the financial services sector. Based in a newly refurbished Head Office in Derby, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance team.

They handle over £16 billion of loans annually, and were the first - and are currently the only - mortgage intermediary to have floated on the London Stock Exchange, having joined the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in November 2014.
Description
Working closely with the Finance Director, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for, amongst other things, leading on all aspects of financial accounting and controls, review and reporting of management accounts for the Group against budgets and updated forecasts, review of finance processes to streamline and automate, provision of financial information to key stakeholders, management of the finance and commissions team (14), oversight of all commission processing and providing an insightful business-partnering service to budget holders across the business. The Financial Controller will work closely with senior management across all functions of the business. The role has a solid functional reporting line into the Finance Director.
Profile
ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
Experience working as an auditor
Financial Controller experience, including preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts
Evidence of both financial and commercial finance experience
Strong team management skills in the day to day running of a finance team in a dynamic environment
Self motivated individual with strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communicator and strong interpersonal skills, preferably having had exposure to working with senior managers outside of finance
Outstanding mathematical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong IT literacy, Microsoft Excel in particular, including advanced modelling skills and management of accounting packages
Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Experience in preparing reports and analysis on the performance of a business
Involvement in the implementation of processing and control systems in a time pressured environment
Experience in the application of internal control procedures and frameworks
Experience in acquisition accounting beneficial
Job Offer
c.£80-90k basic salary
