Job Details

Develop, enhance, and maintain high quality study programmes

To support the strategic and operational development of our ICAEW (ACA) programmes, reviewing their quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

To develop and maintain high quality study programmes and both support and look to enhance the delivery of those programmes.

What you’ll be doing

Product Landscape
• Manage the academic content and pedagogy of ICAEW modules and programmes
• Support development and enhancement of BPP's L4 and L7 Accountancy Apprenticeship programmes
• Support business development and marketing activities where necessary - including providing content for website, proposal documents, open days and webinars etc.
• Act as an external/internal advocate of the product portfolio
• Liaise with other HoPs to share best practice

Content Creation
• Produce content specification and delivery dates for QS (Production Schedule) and resource allocation
• Produce, in conjunction with ICAEW Lead SME, detailed guidance for Subject Matter Experts, reviewers and publishing services
• Liaise with the Hub team to ensure annual update/ build process for online learning environment is on track

Programme Deployment and Monitoring
• Provide input to scheduling rules
• Establish and analyse quality indicators for programme quality/student performance; monitor and act upon these where necessary
• Assist with internal training as required
• Manage the effectiveness of the programme towards client and student satisfaction and high pass rates
• Maintain processes to collect, analyse and communicate pass rates and other relevant quality KPI

Institute focus
• Key contact for ICAEW re ACA courses and main conduit for joint initiatives


Client focus

  • Oversight of key client programme, performance and progression, contributing to discussions around programme reviews
  • Support the BPP client teams in terms of dealing with client queries

Teaching, marking, origination

  • To undertake a teaching and/or origination load as required, with exact details to be confirmed with line manager

What we’re looking for

• Qualified accountant
• Expertise in teaching and/ or authoring modules across Accounting and Tax programmes (ICAEW an advantage)
• Motivated and educationally focussed with excellent communication skills
• Strong interest in programme effectiveness and driving improvements
• An understanding of how accounting and tax programmes are used within the main industry sectors of professional firms, financial services, public sector, and industry and commerce
• An understanding of key themes within these industries such as drive for increased use of technology, improved digital skills etc.
• A willingness to listen and seek out the opinion of others
• Attention to detail and a proven ability to produce high quality work on time and on budget
• Adaptable to change, and ideally a successful track record of leading and/or implementing change
• Attention to detail
• High standards of service to the business and to clients
• Strong skills in organisation, coordination, teamwork, planning, prioritisation and influencing
