Description

The successful In House VAT Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical and VAT accounting advice to departments across the Group
  • Providing technical advice regarding queries and how Tax legislation might apply
  • Providing VAT advice around projects
  • Reviewing existing processes with a view of identifying improvements and bring a best-in-class mentality
  • Responsibility for the preparation and submission of certain compliance returns such as intrastat returns, RDCO returns, P11D submissions and PSA returns.
  • Ensuring that VAT relief is applied where applicable and identifying where tax relief is appropriate with suppliers
  • Preparation of VAT returns and working alongside external tax advisors to ensure accuracy with annual corporation tax returns in various territories as well as ensuring any requirements for payment on accounts during the year are met at the appropriate deadline.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations providing a robust control and governance framework surrounding tax and compliance
  • Assist the Head of Accounting and Financial Control and Finance Director with other ad hoc projects as required
  • Working proactively with the wider Finance team in providing process and data improvements; and
  • Providing coaching to other members of the team.

Profile

The successful In House VAT Accountant will have/be:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CTA/ ACA) is desirable
  • Good excel and modelling skills, preferably advance level
  • Experience of EU VAT and Tax legislation is preferred however not essential
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced entrepreneurial business desirable
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with members of the Finance Team and the wider business teams
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and effectively prioritise to achieve strict deadlines and targets
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality presentations and documents
  • Thrives on challenge and accountability

Job Offer
