Excellent Finance Manager opportunity in Rotherham - up to £45,000 p/a

Your new role
Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth running of the company's financial department and its functions (sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control), and being responsible for the efficient and accurate accounting operations of the company, including the accuracy of its reported financial results in line with accounting principles and standards, whilst maintaining a system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Sales Ledger procedures
* Purchase Ledger procedures (processing invoices and passing for payment, checking and reconciling supplier statements, dealing with queries, raising payments, posting to Sage and reconciling the creditors ledger)
* Bank reconciliations and allocation on cashflow and Sage
* Reconcile control accounts
* Accruals, prepayments and depreciation of fixed assets
* Dealing with accounts queries
* Month end procedures
* Invoice Financing
* Year-end procedures
* Daily monitoring of cashflow and update of cash flow spreadsheet
* Highlighting any potential risks to the business
* Completing VAT returns
* Ensuring statutory payments are made on time
* Credit card reconciliation
* Make BACS payments where necessary
* Producing Management Accounts, P & L's, balance sheets and supplementary financial reports where required
* Provide analytical advice to Directors where required
* Liaise with HR over monthly payroll processing and year end
* Tax and regulatory / compliance with financial governance
* Ensure invoices and statements are sent out on time
* Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met
* Ensure customers' accounts are paid in accordance with payment terms
* Ensure cash and debtor day targets set by the company are achieved
* Prepare reports for any necessary meetings (including Board Meetings)
* Establish effective, professional, and positive working relationships both internally and externally
* Maintain effective communication channels
* Working with all departments and the management team
* Advise on process improvement where necessary
* Ensure paperwork is accurate and kept up to date
* Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to
* Always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
* Undertake any relevant training required to fulfil the role or to facilitate the areas where cover is required
* Any other duties which are deemed as necessary to complete the role
