Income Officer - Oxford £30,000 - £35,000 annual salary Permanent Role Hybrid Working

Your new company

This is an exiting opportunity to join the main provider of accommodation for single homeless people in the county. The purpose of this role is to maximise the company's income.

Your new role

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide a full arrears recovery service for all stages of debts
  • Take pro-active action to reduce the number of accounts in arrears, and to meet and aim to exceed challenging performance targets for the collection of current and former resident arrears and recharges.
  • Prepare all documents relating to legal proceedings, ensuring full case histories are available, applying to the appropriate Court for money judgements, possession, and warrant hearings.
  • Liaise with the Support Team to ensure residents receive advice and assistance.
  • To understand domestic budgeting, debt management, welfare reform and benefit regulations.
  • Contact residents using a range of methods.
  • Assist in the review and implementation of policies, procedures and documentation relating to current rent arrears, former resident arrears, recharges and other resident debts.
  • To always work in a "safe" way ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements, best practice and continuous improvement.

To be the successful candidate you will need:

  • Understanding of housing benefits
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience of chasing debt
  • Good IT Systems knowledge
  • Ability to present data to senior leadership team
  • Good report building skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
