Hazlewoods Corporate Tax team works with businesses from almost every sector of the economy to identify their qualifying R&D activity, quantify it and obtain the R&D incentives and tax reliefs for them, as well as working with clients to best leverage the Patent Box regime.
We are delighted to have won the 2022 Best Tax Practice in a Regional Firm in the Tolley’s Taxation Awards, an award we were also winners in 2017 and finalists for in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
We are looking to increase our R&D offering to both existing and new clients and, as such, are looking to appoint an experienced R&D Tax Adviser. This position will be based within the Corporate Tax team and offers excellent career development opportunities, as well as the opportunity to assist with other areas of Corporate Tax if desired.
It’s an exciting time to join our team at Cheltenham, which has grown considerably over the last five years and comprises six partners and over 80 professionals.
The right person will:
Use your knowledge and experience to help our clients in making claims for R&D tax relief, as well as Patent Box claims (coaching on Patent Box will be provided if you do not have previous experience in this specialist area)
Advise clients on the application of R&D legislation and extract the costs to be claimed
Be responsible for analysing the costs attributed to clients’ R&D and Patent Box projects, ensuring that technical compliance is in line with HMRC legislation
Work with the engagement team to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief and Patent Box claims for submission to HMRC
Prepare R&D documentation for non-tax specialists
You will thrive in this role if:
You are ACCA/ACA/CTA/ATT qualified
You have a detailed working knowledge of R&D tax legislation and experience in preparing R&D calculations
You have excellent report writing skills and experience of preparing reports for non-tax specialists
