ESG at PWC

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), is a term that covers a range of issues facing the world today. At PwC, it’s an opportunity to have a purposeful career to positively contribute to one of the most pressing problems of our time by helping to reshape the whole economy and the society in which we live.

Through speed, collaboration, and imaginative thinking we’re helping our clients to build trust in the climate transition by building credibility of non-financial and climate reporting, helping clients to transform sustainably, ensure the transition to Net Zero is fair, and ensuring our own business is ready to meet the challenge and sharing this story with our clients.

About the role

In Stakeholder Assurance we help our clients to build trust and confidence in their key non-financial information and/or the internal controls environment that supports the provision of key services, whether for internal or external use.

We typically provide assurance services in these areas:

  • Non-financial processes and data, including governance, operational business management indicators, Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) indicators and price indices;

  • Third party controls reporting, covering a broad range of sectors, including IT and business process outsourcing services.

In joining us you will be part of a unique client proposition, assisting our clients build trust in their systems, processes, controls and data and providing transparency to their stakeholders (such as investors, customers, regulators, trade bodies and civil society to name a few) in the form of independent reporting and assurance.

This Senior Associate role will see you working on a variety of challenging, career-advancing non-audit assurance assignments. You’ll be constantly learning, and your ideas will be welcomed in an atmosphere of innovation, collaboration and teamwork.

You will be required to deliver complex engagements and will work with senior staff supporting them with the on-going development of PwC’s profile in the market place, along with building trusted relationships with clients. In your role you will work closely with management throughout the business, while yourself being responsible for delivering the highest quality work, working closely with our clients in providing an excellent service to them and coaching junior colleagues, often on a number of concurrent engagements.

About the team

Within PwC’s London Audit Stakeholder Assurance practice, you'll have the opportunity to work with a market leading team and across a diverse portfolio of clients, from owner managed businesses, private equity backed companies, up to large multinational and listed groups.

As a credible candidate you will have a demonstrable track record of performing high quality work, exhibiting attention to detail, critical thinking and a strong ability to work with clients who potentially span all functions within client organisations across a number of different industries. The candidate will build experience in complex non-audit assurance engagements against standards such as ISAE3000, ISAE3402, SSAE18. Prior experience with these standards is not critical but is a plus.

Our people are expected to be capable of applying their core skills in a variety of business situations to maximise the client value and impact. Strong project management skills are essential to be able to deliver multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to coach junior team members.
