About GRC 

GRC is a solution within the Risk line of service in our CDAR (Controls, Deals, Accounting and Risk) business unit; one of the fastest growing areas of our business. We help clients in building resilience throughout their organisation with excellence in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance and Control.

Being a member of this team will see you working on a variety of challenging and career-advancing engagements. You will work across a diverse range of well-known clients, and will have the opportunity to work on really exciting projects right from the start. We work with some of the top companies in the world across a wide range of commercial industries, as well as world class Government & Public Sector organisations. 


 

The role 

Our GRC solution is currently expanding and we’re seeking talented, high performing professionals with a strong finance background to take a leading role on delivering complex engagements to senior client stakeholders related to:

  • US SOX and ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting), particularly in relation to the upcoming changes for organisations through the UK Corporate Governance reform, which could include:

    • leading project teams in the design and implementation of an appropriate framework for ICFR,

    • oversight and delivery of Management Testing regimes to support US SOx compliance, including the review of work of others,

    • advising our clients on and supporting the delivery of remediation activities, and;

  • Supporting client Finance functions navigate change by:

    •  advising on finance process and control improvement,

    • enhancing Finance function capability where they have skills gaps

    • augmenting client Finance teams by providing surge capacity .


 

If you’re successful, you’ll undertake client work which could include a combination of:

  • Managing and leading teams to deliver client facing, and internal, engagements, including monitoring engagement progress and budget

  • Acting as a subject matter expert on projects

  • Developing and managing relationships with key client stakeholders

  • Identifying and developing new client opportunities, and;

  • Providing support on proposals.

You will also have people responsibilities, including: 

 

  • Developing junior team members through effective coaching and supervision, and;

  • Creating a positive and inclusive team environment. 

Skills and experience required

  • Chartered or Certified Accounting / Audit qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIA or equivalent)

  • Demonstrable experience of working on multiple projects, managing your time effectively to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines

  • Technical knowledge and practical experience of finance processes and controls

  • In depth understanding of SOX compliance, and related requirements

  • A self-starter who can project manage and drive multiple objective-based initiatives to completion with minimal supervision

  • Thrives in an environment of changing needs and priorities versus a structured work schedule

  • Strong team working and leadership skills

  • ​Willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new client propositions

  • Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels

  • Strong report writing skills

  • Commercial acumen and an interest in how complex organisations operate; and

  • Strong analytical, logic and problem-solving skills.
