Management Accountant, Redditch, £50,000 + bonus


HAYS are delighted to be partnering with a £billion turnover, privately owned construction business to recruit for a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. This role has come about due to an internal move within the team. The role will provide finance support on a portfolio of my clients' contracts. Reporting to the Financial Manager, the successful applicant will provide business support and data analysis and will work with senior stakeholders within the Finance Team and the rest of the business. This is an exciting role within a fast-paced environment so strong analytical skills are essential, and the successful candidate will have a proven track record of working closely with Operations/Commercial teams.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis, with hybrid working options and an annual package of £50,000 + bonus.

The key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts from underlying operational and commercial information
• Working in partnership with Operational and Commercial teams
• Ownership of the Balance Sheet and escalation of issues to the Financial Manager as appropriate
• Fulfilling monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
• Responsibility for producing accurate cash flow forecasts, monthly forecasts and annual budget
• Liaising with Internal & External auditors
• Management and oversight of the integrity of cash management
• Driver of continuous improvement ensuring a robust control environment
• Systems management and business process review and improvement
• Provision of adhoc financial analysis as required

In order to be successful in this role you will:

• Be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Be an advanced and confident user of Excel (including complex macros)
• Be confident communicating with key stakeholder across organisational levels
• Have experience working to tight deadlines and ability to prioritise and delegate as appropriate
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Have experience in the Construction/Maintenance industry (this is a desirable as opposed to an essential)
