Experienced tax advisor ACCA ACA CTA ATT for expanding accountancy firm in central Southampton

You will be working for a rapidly expanding firm in central Southampton that specialises in international VAT and tax and accounting for e-commerce businesses that are located internationally and in the UK.

As a Tax Advisor you will be involved in tax preparation and submission to HMRC for Limited Companies, Sole traders and Partnerships i.e. submitting VAT and corporation tax returns and be responsible for ensuring clients' deadlines both internally and externally are met across the team in a timely manner. This will include liaising with HMRC over clients' tax enquiries, developing client relationships through excellent communication skills and liaising directly with clients to assist in resolving queries and working as a trusted advisor. Managing your workload effectively and communication is key, along with multi-tasking and prioritising tasks.

Ideally you will be ACCA, ACA or CTA Qualified/newly qualified with at least three years of business tax advisory and calculation experience with clear career progression in terms of tax expertise and increased levels of responsibility. you will need to have extensive knowledge of tax principles and practices in particular UK VAT and corporation tax and ideally experience working in an accounting function at various levels. Excellent systems experience is needed including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level such as pivot tables and v look ups), Word, and PowerPoint. You will need the ability to manage your own portfolio and workload efficiently and effectively and have a solid understanding of the relationship of business processes with financial statements and financial statement assertions to aid tax calculations and advice.

Ideally you will have knowledge of e commerce businesses along with experience of working in an accountancy practice and the use of using packages such as Xero, IRIS and A2X.
