Job Details

The Broadway Academy Trust is focused on providing the very best and broadest educational experience for young people aged 11 – 19 from Perry Barr and the surrounding area.    This is not purely about achievements in examinations although it is part of it.   We believe in giving our students a rich and varied extra-curricular programme with a particular emphasis on outdoor education.  To this end we have acquired a working farm.  We have also benefited from a recent £21million rebuild.  We are ambitious for the future and have a strong foundation to build on.  Our local community and our young people deserve no less.

Our ambition for our development has led to us creating this new post as part of the leadership team to work alongside the CEO/Headteacher.   As Chief Finance Officer, you will be integral to the strategic development of the organisation and the delivery of our strategic aims.  You will provide clear direction and support our non-academic services, ensuring that we are highly efficient, effective and agile as we evolve and grow.

A qualified accountant, with a successful track record of leading a range of central/support services, you will be a strategic thinker and able to operate at board level.  You will play a critical role in the delivery of the School Improvement Plan and work with the Finance Manager to ensure the financial health of the Trust – both long and short term. You don’t necessarily need to be working in the sector currently.  We believe the skills and expertise in this area are transferable from one sector to another.   Of more importance will be your ability to lead and influence with a high degree of emotional intelligence and well-developed communication skills.

This is an exciting time to join the Trust.   We are ambitious for our young people and we believe there is much to build on. If you are excited by the prospect and believe you can make a difference then we would like to hear from you.  Download full details on the role from https://www.pentir.com/roles/broadwayacademytrust/ . For a confidential discussion please call our advising consultant Mike Phillips (07830 313915) at Pentir.

Closing Date:  Friday 21st October.

Broadway Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
