Financial Reporting Accountant, Birmingham City Centre, £50,000


HAYS are delighted to be partnering with a leading £billion turnover Manufacturing business to recruit for a Financial Reporting Accountant on a permanent basis. This role has been created off the back of internal improvements and transformation of weekly and monthly reporting procedures by building a high-performing centralised accounting team. Ultimately, this will allow my client's site teams to focus on Operational reporting in the longer term, improving productivity and standardising overall finance processes.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis, with hybrid working available, and is paying up to £50,000 dependent on experience.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

• Support Senior Finance Manager in the production of P&L and Balance Sheet for UK sites.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Become a subject matter expert to support the UK division e.g., Yields, Packaging, Utilities etc.
• Support the sites' finance teams with insightful commentary and reporting, as well as supporting forecasting/budgeting process
• Support divisional team in maintaining a robust control environment by completing sites' BS submissions report accurate accounts to the Site FCs and GMs.
• Business Partnering with site FC's, Commerical and FP&A teams.
• Support the Divisional Senior Finance Manager and Site Financial Controllers in identifying and driving continuous improvements around general finance processes and controls.
• Support annual statutory audit

In order to be successful in this role you will:

• Be a newly qualified accountant with excellent academics, either from a practice or industry background.
• Be a people person with strong communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders to further the finance agenda.
• Strong computer skills and financial systems (ERPs:- SAP & Navision, SAP BPC, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills and is able to balance the need for analysis and rigour with speed of action when solving problems
