Working in the Corporate Finance team within Financial Control, the Reporting Analyst will
support the work of the Financial Accountant and Systems Accountant to:

Understand where our financial data comes from.
Develop assumptions and models to blend different sources of data.
Run the analysis that goes into our regulatory returns.
Present the results of your analysis concisely to a variety of audiences.
Maintain standing data in the finance system and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Develop quicker and more effective ways of working.

Financial data analytics and reporting
Understand stakeholders' requirements and how they can be delivered.
Analyse financial data to answer regulatory requirements and internal reporting requests, using both the current and future finance systems (Unit4 Business World and Oracle Fusion).
Present the outcomes of your analysis in a concise way that can be understood by external regulators and the internal university community.
Guide colleagues in setting up and using financial reports in the current and future finance systems.

Regulatory reporting and benchmarking
Develop tools for the collection, structure, and analysis of non-financial data, so it can be used in regulatory reports and comparisons against other Universities.

Maintenance of key finance systems
Guide and advise colleagues in how to set up Oracle data structures.
Update reporting structures in the current and future finance systems.
Check and authorise updates to standing data in finance systems.

Documentation and quality standards maintenance
Document your processes and assumptions you apply, so that they can be reviewed.
Ensure the University adheres to standards of analytical work and model governance.
Demonstrate a culture of continuous improvement and challenging the status quo to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Internal Client Relationship Management
Develop an internal network of colleagues in Financial Control, Financial Management, and other regulatory reporting departments such as Planning, Performance and Strategic Change.
Demonstrate customer focus by delivering the right product to the deadline.
