Finance Business Partner/Management Accountant - Leading Events Group - Permanent Role - Gloucester - Hays

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and rapidly growing group to recruit for a dynamic and driven Finance Business Partner/Management Accountant based in their Gloucester, Gloucestershire head office. Within an exciting sector and this business is provider of events that work with some of the UK's most prestigious and well-known brands. A permanent finance opportunity, partnering with both non-finance and financial management to really influence day-to-day decisions and contribute towards the business strategy, along with financial reporting and commercial analysis. This position is open to part-qualified/qualified Accountants or Finance Professionals qualified by experience.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve interpreting and presenting financial data with concise analysis, analysing/delivering insights that link financial reports to business objectives, along with supporting different departments who have limited financial knowledge to develop understanding and enforce discipline regarding core business processes. You will deliver/challenge the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process, monthly accurate reporting on risks and opportunities to the budget, along with actively influencing day to day decisions to help shape strategy and the direction of the business. You will analyse P&L's, identify areas of underperformance, and suggest solutions along with production/review of quarterly VAT returns and provide effective commercial procedures. You will maintain timely, accurate recording of financial data, ensure the annual audit is actioned and have day to day control of various business unit's finances, including the production Management Accounts. You will challenge senior management and in addition work towards best practices including reducing their impact on environment and supporting sustainability.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this exciting Finance Business Partner role, you will need experience within a similar position, knowledge of preparing management accounts and experience performing detailed financial analysis with accuracy and presentation. You will be able to manage relationships and impact/influence senior non-financial management, be a pro-active problem solver with excellent communication skills and have strong MS excel skills to manipulate data. You will have key time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and commercial skills to challenge decision making where needed. You will be part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience. Experience with Sage 50 accounting systems and within the events sector would be advantageous but not essential.
