Your new company

This UK leading business has been going through some positive changes recently and in the last few years have had a bit of a restructure within the finance team. You will be joining a business that has positive and ambitious leaders throughout and have invested heavily as of recent. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant within FMCG and/or operations to join an established business as their No2 on-site in Fakenham with the view to become No1 in a short amount of time, due to the current No1 progressing into a different role within the company.

Your new role
As the Operations Accountant, you will provide support to the Senior Operational Accountant, Head of Divisional Finance and the factory management teams with regard to operational performance - providing costing, analysis, commentary and proposals for improvement. Assisting with monthly management accounts for the factories and Division, and preparation of budgets and forecasts. Input into capital expenditure proposals as required. Provision of operational analysis for decision making purposes, including review and validation of costings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading locally the preparation, analysis and commentary relating to key factory performance indicators
  • Support the preparation of Standard costs and Labour standards - including annual review, new product launches and ad hoc queries
  • Working with factory teams to improve performance through financial support on projects and costings
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, ideally you will need experience working in a similar role within an FMCG business and/or experience in an operational role. It is desirable that you have a relevant qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) but this is not essential as we are considering all applications.

What you'll get in return
On offer for this role is £47,000 per annum, which is negotiable depending on the candidate, plus a car allowance of £4,200 per annum. The benefits include 33 days holiday including bank holiday and 5% pension. Please note, there is possibility once established you will be promoted into more of a senior role which will attract a better salary.
