Financial Controller

Financial Controller role within the Group finance function for a £400m + company near Warrington.


Hays are working with a long-standing client who have their head office near Warrington. This company is well-known for being innovative and delivering a best in class service to it's customers. They have a broad product offering across multiple divisions and a diverse client base which is pretty much recession proof.

As Financial Controller - Central Finance, you will report into the Group Financial Controller. Key duties will include -

• Management of the Central Management Accounts team (3 heads) that look after the accounting (P&L and Balance Sheet) of the £20m of central overhead and produce a number of the key accounting entries for the commercial finance team

• Reporting of the monthly results to Group and act as first contact for any queries arising
• VAT returns
• P11D compilation
• Compilation and submission of the Budget and Forecast files to Group
• Accounting for the historic Head Office companies
• Management of the 2 person Cash Book / Treasury team

The central finance function collates c£400m of accounts across the whole business so this role will touch all aspects of the company and interact with other finance leaders and business controllers. The company is acquisitive and the central finance team are crucial during transactions and subsequent integrations.

The role is ideally suited to a Practice trained accountant with formal background in external audit for a larger clients and then subsequent post-qualified experience in Financial Accounting roles.
