Accounts & Tax Manager - Creative, Media and Entertainment Clients - Central London Based

Your new company
An established accountancy firm based in Central London are looking to hire an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager, the firm specialises in providing individuals and businesses accounting and tax advice services. The firm represents some of the biggest worldwide names in the film, television and fashion industries

Your new role
In your new role as an Accounts & Tax Manager you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and a small team of seniors and juniors as well as reporting directly to the directors.

  • To prepare when needed and review Financial Statements, VAT returns, management accounts and other documents. The role requires a large amount of client interaction, and you will be required to speak to clients daily in the office and at their premises
  • Being first point of contact for some client's affairs (tax, accounts and general)
  • Assist Senior manager with all deadlines including Accounts, VAT and Company Secretarial
  • Ensure you understand what the clients' principal activities and jobs are (e.g. for a company, what services they provide)
  • Prepare Financial Statements for review from a Senior Manager when needed and review of Financial Statements / Corporation Tax Return from other junior members of staff
  • Prepare Self-assessment tax returns for review from a senior tax manager
  • Prepare records up to trial balance level from client records using MS Excel or book-keeping software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero etc.)
  • Prepare regular management accounts for review from a Senior Manager (with aim of reviewing this themselves once confidence has been gained with the client's reporting)
  • Review of VAT Returns (on the basis you have a good understanding of the VAT rules)



What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position you will be ACA or ACCA fully qualified with several years post qualified experience.

  • Committed to maintaining their technical knowledge to a high level
  • Good understanding of accountancy software packages and other accounting solutions
  • Have a good awareness of technology in general
  • Competent using MS Office Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
