Senior Tax Manager
A tax manager specialising in business taxation (Corporation Tax primarily, but with some knowledge of VAT, etc.) in an West End boutique practice with a varied and dynamic client base ranging from entrepreneurs through established family businesses to substantial real estate groups including funds.
A thriving independent firm of Chartered Accountants and tax advisers. The client base is diverse with many high net worth, often internationally based, private clients as well as private companies/partnerships operating in many different business sectors. The business tax team has a portfolio of well over 500 entities with a UK tax presence and based mainly in London and south east England. The firm tends to attract energetic and pragmatic people from a variety of backgrounds who wish to take their training and profession seriously and develop successful careers.
The tax manager will work as part of the Business Tax team. It is a client facing role which requires a mixture of good technical knowledge, a commercial approach and an ability to work with a wide variety of individuals both inside and outside the practice, often at a senior level. Being in a small but high quality tax team brings a great range of work, and there is ample opportunity to develop as a rounded tax practitioner. The role includes taking ownership of client relationships alongside the partner and director, having day to day management of compliance and being key to the delivery of advisory projects.
Good oral and written communication skills are essential, as the firm has a reputation for work of a very high standard. The firm can advise on a wide range of business opportunities with a degree of competence comparable with much larger organisations.
The successful candidate will be ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified with predominately corporate tax experience and be at least two years post qualified.
An interest in real estate tax work and experience in a current or a previous employment would be of benefit.
Market rate salary, depending upon the experience of the individual. Flexible and hybrid working with a mixture of office and home and flexible start and end of the working day. Candidates looking for a part-time permanent role will be considered.
The firm pays salaries that are often more competitive than larger firms. They do not offer benefit packages, preferring to keep it simple. There are flexible bonus packages for senior qualified staff. Being a small and close-knit firm there is a busy social calendar with ad-hoc pub trips, team yoga session and a range of annual seasonal gatherings and parties.
