Hays are seeking a Payroll Manager for their client in Ipswich.

You will join a small but busy team, who act for a number of East Anglia's most significant businesses as well as clients based locally, throughout the UK and internationally, across a vast and interesting range of sectors. This means they can offer you exposure to a broad and mixed portfolio of work. The role can be combined with home-working if desired. The role This is a role with huge impact and real scope to further develop your existing payroll and management skills. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Payroll service in the Ipswich office including all aspects of deadline management, staff support, training and troubleshooting as well as liaising with existing and potential new clients ensuring a high level of client service throughout. Reporting to the senior payroll manager, you will be a "hands-on" manager whilst also participating in all aspects of end to end payroll processing.

Responsibilities will include:

• Day to day management of the Ipswich Payroll Team: training, mentoring and developing team members
• Reviewing payrolls and resolving team queries, providing constructive feedback to team members
• Managing a varied portfolio of clients including hand on processing
• Taking responsibility for achieving profitability - quoting, billings and collections
• Supporting team members and clients, in a role that has a requirement for flexible working hours including additional hours when required

Essential skills required:
High level understanding and practical application of all areas of end to end payroll including

• Auto-enrolment pensions
• Statutory payments
• Holiday pay legislation
• Minimum wage legislation
• HMRC and RTI legislation
• Termination payments
• Directors payments
