Description
Own day-to-day finance, including financial control, management reporting, cash management, tax and statutory accounting
Develop, lead and directly manage a team of 2
Implement a 'no surprises' financial control and reporting environment that facilitates the continued scale up of the business
Ownership of tax submissions to HMRC (VAT return, Corp Tax)
Lead the process to prepare and claim R&D tax credits
Manage payroll, banking, purchase ledger and receivables
Manage purchases of stock and maintain inventory-level availability
Manage the dispatch process including documentation and couriers
Work closely with Sales and Engineering to ensure a joined-up approach to day-to-day business operations with the necessary support
Collaborate with Engineering on accuracy and timeliness of Parts Lists management within the SAGE system
Collaborate with Sales on Order Management and Dispatch
Collaborate with Warehousing/Production on Production Scheduling
Collaborate with Technology function to prepare Innovate UK Grant claims
Manage the HQ facility, to include buildings, utilities and insurance
Stewardship of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting calendar
Reporting including management accounts, cashflow forecasts, commission reports, stock status reports
Rapidly build cross-functional relationships, quickly building trust and credibility across the business and professional Accountants, where appropriate
identify areas for business process improvement across the Order-to-Cash process and execute the appropriate enhancements
Accounting support on future corporate finance activities
Assess the financial risk of all business operations
Engage with and influence the senior leadership team
Profile
- ACA/ACCA Qualified
- 5-7 years of management position experience in accounting and financial controlling
- Knowledge of IAS GAAP/IFRS mandatory
- Knowledge of UK GAAP preferred
- Knowledge of SAGE an advantage
- Advanced/Intermediate MS Excel & MS PowerPoint skills
