Accountant - £36,000-£42,000 - Didcot - Permanent

Your new company
This is a great opportunity to join an established R&D company based in Didcot. The purpose of the role is to backfill a vacancy following an internal promotion and take ownership of the UK affiliate.

Your new role
As the successful candidate your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring all month-end duties are performed accurately and timely
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations and controls
  • Calculation and posting of monthly tax
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure accuracy of Financial Postings
  • Monthly review of P&L with variance analysis
  • Be a primary point of contact for Internal and External Tax and Treasury activities, assisting in the production of affiliate contemporaneous documentation
  • Production of the statutory financial statements and supplementary disclosures
  • Preparation of all relevant schedules for the external audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Manage the annual corporation tax return process, liaising with external tax advisors
  • Contribution to Finance-led projects
  • Training and coaching of business users relating to Finance processes and controls
  • Continually review the financial processes to drive simplification.

What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate you will need;

  • Strong financial awareness with exposure to an operational finance department
  • Ideally a professionally qualified accountant or part-qualified with relevant experience
  • Able to network and develop relationships with non-Finance colleagues
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills to be employed when solving problems
  • Organised and able to prioritise skills with the ability to deliver against deadlines
  • Have good accuracy with a high level of attention to detail
  • Be a self-motivated person, willing to get involved and collaborate in various teams
  • Strong Excel and SAP skills
