An experienced Management Accountant is required for a new and exciting role in South Oxfordshire.

Your new company

My client is a fast growing and highly stable multi-site organisation who's mission it is to deliver a geological disposal facility and to provide radioactive waste management solutions. They are engaging in discussions to help build understanding of geological disposal and the process to identify a site for a UK geological disposal facility. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, which is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).


Your new role

This is a great opportunity to create and lead a new high performing Management Accounting capability within one of my favourite and fastest growing clients in Oxfordshire. This is a senior high-profile role reporting into the Financial Controller and the role will provide a critical link between the Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Partnering and Financial Operations teams whilst supporting non-finance colleagues across the organisation. Close liaison and interaction with the executive team, senior management, operations and programme/project managers, as well as the Group Finance and Internal Audit teams as well. The role holder is responsible for management accounting within nominated Lines of Business. As a Finance leader they are responsible for the preparation and integrity of the management accounts whilst leading the drive for continuous improvement in financial controls, processes and the use of business systems.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Working towards or already fully qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
  • Experience gained in similar role: including collaborative working in cross functional teams; ability to determine business needs and develop insightful management information using specialist financial reporting tools; experience of forecasting and cost estimation. ICT literate with extensive knowledge of finance systems, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word and good Excel skills. An awareness of Government Accounting and Managing Public Money would be beneficial.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to manage time to meet external and internal deadlines, diplomatic, tact and confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required as the post holder will be expected to engage with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally
