The role is based in Manchester (UK), and the post holder will be expected to travel to the various international locations (up to three times a year).

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the CFO, this Group Financial Controller role will take responsibility for Financial Reporting, Statutory Accounts, Board Reporting, Treasury, Balance Sheet Control, Cash Forecasting, Tax Management, as well as ad project work as required by the CFO.

Duties include:

  • Ensuring the Group develops and maintains a strong financial control environment;
  • Preparation and review of the monthly Board Pack for Board reporting;
  • Preparation and review of the consolidated monthly results;
  • Management of external audit and development and documentation of strong internal controls framework to support rapid future growth;
  • Consolidation and reporting of budgets and forecasts;
  • Ownership of statutory accounts and tax filings in the UK and overseas;
  • Treasury and cash management, including forex management;
  • Day-to-day relationships with lenders and funders, including covenant compliance and robust cash forecasting;
  • Responsibility for UK VAT Group returns and liaising with advisors for corporation tax management (globally);
  • Leading and developing the finance team in Edvoy’s global locations;
  • Development of the Group’s FP&A function;
  • Significant ad-hoc project work.

The successful candidate will be ACCA or ACA Qualified (4/5 years + PQE) with a strong financial accounting background and strong technical accounting experience. They will possess the genuine drive and commitment to produce the highest quality work and to deliver technical expertise at all times.

Essential Criteria:

You will likely have the following experience:

  • Desire to work within a growing and dynamic entrepreneurial company and be a key player in overall company success;
  • This is a very "hands on" role, and anyone working for the business will be expected to be very proactive and responsive;
  • Exceptional levels of technical accounting knowledge coupled with the desire and ability to be the ‘subject matter expert’;
  • An understanding of UK Corporation Tax;
  • Ability to be the ‘right hand’ person to the CFO;
  • Understanding of larger and complex business structures and groups;
  • A proven track record in group structures;
  • Experience of leading and developing teams;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships;
  • The ability to manage external stakeholders;
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to manage several jobs at one time;
  • Great interpersonal skills, particularly in a highly diverse team;
  • Willingness to learn new skills.

Desirable criteria (not essential):

  • Transfer pricing knowledge;
  • Basic international tax experience.
