This role will manage the effective delivery of the Internal Audit function providing assurance to the ELT and the Audit Committee that material risks are being appropriately mitigated through effective controls operating across the organisation.

Description
The Internal Audit Manager's key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to;
- Developing the internal audit strategy and annual internal audit programme, showing how this links with the risk management and assurance activity within the overall Governance and Control framework for approval by the Head of Risk, Control and Assurance, CFO and the Audit Committee.
- As Internal Audit Manager you will monitor progress against the annual audit plan, ensuring all necessary reporting for the ELT and Audit Committee is carried out in a timely manner and evaluate and prioritise mitigating actions resulting from internal audit reports, ensuring that a robust monitoring and reporting process is in place for producing ELT/Audit Committee updates.
- You will support the risk management framework across Electricity North West to ensure a consistent and coherent of risk, in particular through ensuring the internal audit programme is underpinned and delivered with reference to the priorities identified through the risk management framework.
- You will promote effective compliance and control through timely monitoring of the control environment and maintenance of key internal controls and will ensure timely reporting is provided to the audit leads, the ELT and the Audit Committee.
- In addition you will lead, coach and develop a team to their fullest potential to achieve both personal and organisational objectives and goals and will act as a deputy to the Head of Risk, Control and Assurance when requested.
Profile
The successful Internal Audit Manager will be;
- A qualified accountant or equivalent business qualification;
- Significant operational/business experience;
- Experience of leading a team;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to establish credibility at senior management level;
- The ability to challenge constructively;
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness;
- Experience within utilities and regulated industry knowledge (desirable);
- Resilience with the ability to work under pressure and to deliver quality deliverables to tight timescales;
- A full UK driving licence.
Job Offer
The successful candidate will receive;
£55,000 - £60,000
10.5% bonus
