Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are currently supporting an excellent SME company based in Evesham with the recruitment of a Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

Our client have gone from strength-to-strength in recent years and with an aggressive growth plan in place for the next 3 years, they are seeking a knowledgeable individual to join their small finance team.

Your new role
Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will take on a number two role and support with key day-to-day operational finance tasks.

Main duties:

  • Preparation of material for monthly management accounts (P&L, gross margin analysis, balance sheet)
  • Monthly prepayment and depreciation journal entry
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of nominal ledger control accounts
  • Assist with the preparation of financial forecasts
  • Support with year-end audit and provision of statutory information
  • Running quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintaining and reconciling foreign currency accounts
  • Post daily receipts and payments
  • Maintenance of debtors list
  • Resolving customer and supplier invoice queries
  • Petty cash management
  • Monthly payroll including annual P11Ds
  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting software

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - QBEs considered
  • Previous experience in a similar role and a solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to prioritise and multi-task whilst retaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, SumIFs, Formulas)
  • Proficient with accounting packages (Sage/Oracle highly advantageous)
