Large PLC listed business looking for a new Head of Group Financial Reporting and Control. This role will manage a team but can be largely home based (1 day per week in the office in Folkestone)

My client is a large, listed PLC business with entities including travel and insurance.
Description
As Head of Group Financial Reporting and Control you will:
- Lead on the work for key judgements and estimates for the Group, both in terms of calculations and reporting into the plc Audit Committee.
- Produce the consolidated financial statements and notes to the accounts for the plc annual report and accounts and interim statement, and for a small number of centrally managed statutory entities.
- Produce the monthly consolidated management accounts for the plc.
- Manage the external audit process throughout the year.
- Be a key liaison on all material technical accounting matter for the wider Group and Finance department, and keep abreast of key technical developments in the external reporting landscape.
- Proactively manage the financial control environment for the Group, ensuring adoption and adherence to group policies, procedures and best practice.
Profile
The ideal candidate for the Head of Group Financial Reporting and Control will closely match the following criteria:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA essential, with 3+ years PQE
- Group consolidation essential, ideally in a plc environment
- Good working knowledge of IFRS and external audit processes essential
- Managing a small team essential
- Demonstrable track record of meeting deadlines within a reporting cycle essential
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills essential
- Use of IBM Cognos TM1 and Controller advantageous
- Insurance accounting advantageous
Job Offer
- Base salary of up to £90,000 + benefits
- Largely home based - 1 day per week on average required in the office
