About the Role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting processes and controls for the group, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and Group accounting and control policies. The role will assist the Group Reporting team in preparation of the Group’s financial statements at reporting periods. This role is part of a team made up of corporate reporting experts that assist the rest of the Group by providing technical accounting expertise to other business units.
You’ll be a key member of the Group Finance team, supporting the Group’s corporate reporting, focusing on the production of the back end of interim and full year reports, and the delivery of separate statutory accounts and reports for the Group’s non-trading entities under UK GAAP (FRS 101/102)
You’ll provide technical accounting assistance to Business Units and the Group Consolidation team to assist with the monthly financial reporting, particularly in more complex areas such as derivatives, hedge accounting, acquisitions, disposals, refinancing’s and other transactions.
Ideally, you’ll be recently qualified ACA/ACCA accountant in a practice or business environment with financial reporting and technical accounting. You’ll be able to understand and be able to assess the accounting implications of new transactions and commercial actions. Attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of accounting and financial reporting is essential with a strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
