They advise governments, companies, and high-net-worth individuals, and their clients include financial institutions, law firms, hedge funds and private equity firms, plus clients seeking to recover assets as well as public entities and private companies .
The firm expanded in London during the pandemic by 25% and is now ready for its next growth phase in the UK fraud/financial investigations team.


Your new role

Organic growth means that the firm are now looking at appoint a Manager to Senior Manager, the job title for which is "Director." You'll take an active role in managing and co-ordinating investigation teams. They will have responsibility for preparing client reports, suitable for review by the project or practice lead, The Forensic Director will participate in business development activities. You'll be joining this team at a really interesting phase of its development. Currently all work is generated internally - the team will be running the investigative workstream of larger, wider firm projects. Gradually though the firm would like the function to become more independent and attract external work too, so your BD/marketing abilities will be put to very good effect!
Day-to-day:

  • Lead and deliver projects, with limited supervision
  • Scope projects and assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Define case strategies in conjunction with more senior staff members
  • Contribute high-level thinking on complex cases
  • Critically analyse existing work and identify areas for further investigation
  • Analyse findings in the context of the subject matter and client need
  • Review team members' work for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare client-ready reports suitable for review by project or practice lead
  • Produce work of consistently high quality, with limited supervision
  • Liaise with clients, potential clients, and subcontractors as appropriate
  • Ensure all project deadlines are met
  • Manage project budgets, where appropriate
  • Business development activities
  • Mentor Financial and Forensic Investigations team members, providing 'at desk' support where required
  • Direct project teams
  • Be sought out for subject-matter expertise by colleagues across the office
  • Design and deliver training sessions




What you'll need to succeed

You'll be working in Professional Services/Consulting currently and have a strong track record to at least Manager level in Fraud & Financial Investigations. The position requires strong knowledge of financial systems, accounting processes, and forensic accounting and investigation methods, as well as an ability to explain complex information and findings in a simple manner. ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification

  • Post qualification experience of 5+ years in investigations and forensic accounting
  • Experience of communicating financial information to a non-specialist audience
  • A proven track record of producing work of consistently high quality for clients
  • Prior experience of conducting investigative interviews
  • Experience of mentoring and developing staff
