Finance Risk and Controls Manager

The purpose of this role is to manage and deliver this activity for the key finance programmes, working as part of a team a team to ensure that the methodology is appropriately applied across the processes in scope, and performing the assurance activity required to support both the local and Group reporting processes.

Description

The Finance Risk and Controls Manager will be responsible for;

• This delivery of controls scoping & risk assessment activity, ensuring appropriate engagement and support for development & implementation of controls in the project environment, process walkthroughs and talk throughs, delivery of independent assurance activity, including design and operational effectiveness testing and assessment of control issues.
• Ensuring effective and embedded risk management is imperative and you will play a key part in ensuring an appropriate culture is in place to support and improve the risk and control environment. The role provides an opportunity to help upskill the Finance community in understanding what a good control environment looks like and to emphasise the role that they have to play in this regard.

Profile

The Finance Risk and Controls Manager should have;

• Recent audit experience (external audit or internal audit)
• Experience and knowledge of life or general insurance
• Risk and controls delivery experience, including SOx and internal risk management
• Relationship management skills to achieve objectives through others and maintain effective relationships across both the businesses/markets and external suppliers
• Effective influencing skills with people at all levels internally and externally with the ability to build credible working relationships

Job Offer

The Finance Risk and Controls Manager will receive;

• Salary of circa £55,000 (National) depending on location, skills and experience
