We are seeking a qualified Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team.

The role

As Senior Management Accountant, you will be expected to assist the Director of Finance in carrying out the financial and accounting activities of the Royal Academy of Engineering, RAE Trading Limited (RAET) and the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering Foundation (QEP) in line with financial and management procedures and practices. You will provide excellent financial support to a growing organisation facilitating the best use of resources across the Academy.

Acting as our finance lead across many departments, you will be an internal finance expert and a key contact for external stakeholders. Alongside other members of the Finance team, you will provide advice to staff with internal financial queries as and when required, ad-hoc support to staff, produce management accounts and submit accurate reporting updates to government and other funders. You will also produce working papers for audit and prepare full accounts for subsidiaries. You can expect considerable variety and an extremely high profile.

Who are we looking for?

You should be able to exert real influence with operational departments, requiring broad knowledge and experience of finance business partnering and a good working knowledge of month-end processes. A background in management accounts and advanced Excel skills are essential. You will be able to reconcile different sources of data and produce value add reporting and eloquently describe any action required to best manage the finances of the Academy. The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is also an important element of this role.

Location

Our light, spacious offices are based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline 2 days a week in the office.
