Finance Manager - UK Logistics Group - Remote/Office Hybrid Working - Permanent - Gloucester, Gloucestershire

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading, successful, and well-established UK logistics Group to recruit for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager based in their Gloucester, Gloucestershire site. Offering remote/office hybrid flexible working with ideally one day in the office and the rest remote. This is an exciting permanent position with where key aspects of the role will include maintaining effective financial controls, providing high quality financial information, and providing effective business partnering support to the site's leadership team and their customers. You will oversee and motivate a small finance team.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve managing a team of two finance staff, creation of weekly management packs, weekly accounts review meetings with the site management team and production of monthly review packs for monthly contract review meetings. You will produce the annual site operating budgets, forecasts, and re-forecasts, review all balance sheet accounts, and reconcile with appropriate analysis, mange the processes for period-end to ensure deadlines are achieved, along with processing relevant journals. You will complete payroll reconciliations with related duties, build commercial awareness of various contract to develop financial analysis to support growth, and manage monthly reporting submissions to group for both finance and non-financial management. You will deal with complex financial queries, audit/risk assessment support, be involved in continuous improvement projects for site, submission of annual insurance declarations and ad-hoc duties/projects when required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Manager Role, you will need experience within a similar position, ideally a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or working towards completion of your finance qualification with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels both internally/externally. You will have strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, self-motivated and be able to work accurately under pressure to deadlines. You will have strong IT and financial systems skills including MS excel, ability to adapt and work well under your own initiative as well as part of a management team. Ideally you will have experience of managing a team or demonstrate skills in developing/motivating a team. It would be advantageous but not essential if you have working knowledge of Oracle systems and back-office legacy finance systems along with experience within the Logistics sector.

This permanent Finance Manager role is offering a salary between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire with remote/office flexible working (one day in the office per week, the rest remote).
