Senior accountant ACA ACCA rapidly expanding accountancy practice in Southampton

You will be working for a Southampton-based Accounting & Business Consultancy firm that is rapidly expanding and specialises in international VAT and tax and accounting for e-commerce businesses that are located internationally and in the UK.

Main responsibilities will include carrying out ad hoc duties as requested by the Head of Accounts; managing a team consisting of a management accountant and bookkeepers; providing information to the senior management in the department to aid annual appraisals; accounts preparation and submission to for Limited Companies, Sole traders, and Partnerships; responsibility for ensuring clients' deadlines both internally and externally are met across the team in a timely manner; developing client relationships through excellent communication skills and liaising directly with clients to assist in resolving queries and working as a trusted advisor; managing workload effectively - communication is key, along with multi-tasking and prioritising tasks; implementing and maintaining procedures and processes in the accounts department and assisting with representing the firm externally.

You will need to be ACCA or ACA qualified with a solid understanding of the relationship of business processes with financial statements and financial statement assertions. You will need top have at least three years of accountancy experience, ideally working in an accountancy practice, with clear career progression in terms of accounting and increased levels of responsibility along with excellent systems experience including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level such as pivot tables and v look ups), Word, and PowerPoint, and ideally knowledge of Xero, IRIS and A2X. You will have the ability to manage your own portfolio and workload efficiently and effectively and knowledge of e commerce businesses would be an advantage.
