About the role

This role will see you working on a variety of challenging, career-advancing non-audit assurance assignments. You’ll be constantly learning, and your ideas will be welcomed in an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork. In your role you will help grow the business, while yourself being responsible for supervising and coaching a team.

PwC's Stakeholder Assurance team provides services that build and enhance trust between companies and its stakeholders in particular as it relates to non financial disclosures, emerging technologies and regulation.

This requires an understanding of an organisation’s purpose and objectives, external environment, operating model, risk management processes, regulatory pressures, and the diverse needs of its critical stakeholders.  An ability to identify a subject matter of relevance to the company and its stakeholders, and through the application of appropriate auditing standards, create opportunities for independent assurance to drive value outcomes for the company and its stakeholders  is critical.

PwC Stakeholder Assurance professionals bring the right mix of assurance experience, industry-specific knowledge and highly technical specialised skill sets to bear on a company's desire to address trust deficits with its stakeholders.  For example, companies are increasingly seeking independent assurance on outsourced operations, cloud environments, data protection, privacy and cyber controls, financial crime responses, sustainability and climate change disclosures, data, supply chains and non financial performance metrics.  To deliver this assurance we provide a full range of services which include pre-assurance assessments and reporting to such standards such as ISAE3000, ISAE3402, and SOC2.

"A day in the life of a SAss Manager can vary greatly depending on time of year, client we're working on, this variation is what makes this job so exciting.

Mornings may start catching up with SAss colleagues beginning with a team call typically covering any opportunities we are working on, resolving resourcing issues and new audit tenders coming through which we may be able to support on from a SAss perspective. There is a real push to grow the business, in particular the ESG / non-financial reporting assurance agenda and delivery of controls reports to support the delivery of outsourced services. In the afternoon we may be working on proposal documents or preparing for a bid review. Finally, most days we speak to our internal Risk & Quality team on a variety of different topics and ongoing projects".

Required Skills and experience:

  • Experience of leveraging assurance standards, for example ISAE 3000, ISAE 3402, AAF and SOC2, in client-facing situations within a professional services environment

  • Experience of leading the planning of complex non-financial assurance engagements including the identification of risk and controls and the performance and review of relevant audit testing

  • The ability to lead and work effectively in different teams for varying periods of time, building good working relationships with both colleagues and client personnel at all levels.

  • Experience in people management and leading and developing diverse teams.

  • Experience of identifying and effectively reporting issues and recommendations for improvement to clients.

  • Business/market development including experience of identifying opportunities, managing client relationships, leading/involved with tenders/significant client pitches.

  • Client handling and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to budget and manage project finances.

  • Ability to work across multiple projects, prioritise and manage time effectively, along with a proactive approach to problem solving and delivering client solutions.

  • Non-financial processes and data, including governance, operational business management indicators, Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) indicators.

  • Third party controls reporting, covering a broad range of sectors, including IT and business process outsourcing services.
