Our practice is experiencing significant growth which is driven by demand from our clients for greater assistance in dealing with increasingly complex cyber security risks, and support in executing their change and growth agendas securely. We believe helping our clients gain confidence in their digital future is essential to their growth, and as a result our cyber security practice is one of the key growth priorities of our firm. The TeamOur Managed Cyber Defence team provides a 24x7x365 security managed service to our clients, from hubs based in the UK & New Zealand. Our services include endpoint detection and response (EDR), network threat detection (NTD) as well as full managed SOC & extended detection and response (XDR) services.We partner with leading technology providers such as Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud Security, and utilise the experience of our Threat Intelligence & Incident Response practices to create fully managed detection and response capabilities for our clients.The Role

PwC is going through a period of heavy investment in our Managed Cyber Defence services and as such are looking to grow our team to include an experienced Technical Pre-Sales Consultant to help aid our growth and deliver world class detection services to our clients.

A senior member of the team, the PwC Technical Pre-Sales Consultant represents, designs and presents the Managed Cyber Defence Services to our clients. 

The Technical Pre-Sales Consultant takes ownership and responsibility for the Pre-Sales engagement process with the Client, supporting Sales through the Sales Cycle to decision point, handing over into the delivery process for business wins. 

Responsibilities
  • Aids the management team and business unit in driving the technical strategy for our services and communicating this to our prospect clients

  • Responsible for achieving success by driving business growth, influencing sales propositions to win business deals in a Pre-Sales capacity. 

  • Track and monitor activity and success using Salesforce as a single point of truth for Pre-Sales activity. Ownership of supporting sales to achieve targets. 

  • Maintain close, sensitive and long-term working relationships with key customers’ acting as a trusted advisor and assist with any identified up sell opportunities

  • Technical Pre-Sales design of Managed Cyber Defence service solutions with a high level of accuracy. This includes defining solution hardware, licenses, professional services budgets and services. 

  • Lead bids, organizing activity to ensure timely bid submission to meet agreed deadlines.

  • Provide 'technical authority' for PwC proposals. Peer review designs from other peers and colleagues with critical/positive appraisal.

  •  Prepare and deliver effective presentations to customers to highlight solution detail and business benefit and help win/close deals. 

  • Acting as an ambassador for the company, to raise profile, branding and credibility within the market, delivering excellence to delight our customers. 

  • R&D/Product Development – working alongside our management team, other consultants in the wider business unit and support engineers, collaborate to develop new products/improve service offerings to customers. 

  • Keep up-to-date with developments in the Cyber Security space, predominantly around SIEM, XDR, SaaS and XSOAR

  • Contribute significantly to the development of Company goals, growth and profitability targets by being an active member of the PwC team and culture. 

  • Build strong relationships with vendor commercial and technical contacts. 

Skills & Experience
  • Experience of working in an MSSP environment preferred but not essential

  • SIEM, XDR, EDR, NDR experience in design, deployment, scoping and detection methodology

  • Experience designing, working with and developing XSOAR 

  • Experience of completing low level and high-level designs, following full technical pre-sales and project life cycle. 

  • MSP/ISP specific experience around support, projects and technical pre-sales processes.

  • ITIL Foundation (preferred). 

  • Understand the competition, ability to competitively position PwC Cyber and differentiate the offering. 

  • Clear understanding of technical solutions and the value proposition that enables the customers’ business to operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 

  • Excellent customer orientation and the ability to build strong relationships with client prospects of all levels and experience

  • The ability to work under pressure, demonstrating drive and a positive approach to work. 

  • Ability to learn and develop new skills whilst showing that you can prioritise work efficiently and productively and manage your time well. 

  • Recognises and embraces change, seeking opportunities to foster innovation and continuous improvement. 

  • Self-motivator, results and quality orientated, good organisational skills, attention to detail, positive helpful attitude. 

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening) including an excellent telephone manner and strong customer first focused skills

  • Organising Work - The ability to organise and priortise workloads whilst multitasking.  Able to manage own time efficiently and to handle multiple activities in parallel to accomplish the goals. Ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Professional Expertise - The ability and motivation to apply and develop one’s own professional knowledge and to share this expertise with others.
