Your new role
In this role you will manage a small finance team

  • Purpose of the role is to support the Senior Management Team and Management Committee in business planning and organisational development to deliver a sustainable financial future for the organisation.
  • You will need to maintain and develop financial processes and procedures to improve operations and ensure compliance with all relevant and new legislation including HMRC tax returns, VAT, PAYE and auto-enrolment and best practice.
  • You will need to provide monthly/quarterly and adhoc financial information to the Director of Resources, CEO and the finance committee.
  • You will need to update and review budgets and prepare budgets for new business.
  • You will also need to prepare financial statements and analysis with Quarterly Management Accounts (and cash flow forecast) and assess actual performance against budget forecast.
  • Produce annual and long-term organisational forecasts to support strategic plans and work programmes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least four years' experience of taking accounts to trial balance.
  • At least two years' experience of payroll administration including pensions, BACS payments and end of year returns to HMRC
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and producing project and organisational budgets and budget modelling.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and monitoring income and expenditure across a range of income and funding streams.
  • Demonstrable experience of producing management accounts for Board members
  • Experience of managing, supporting and motivating staff.
  • Experience of grant/project monitoring and reporting systems.
  • You will need a relevant accounting qualification Level 4 AAT or part qualified.
