Director of Finance and Planning

We are now seeking to appoint a new Director of Finance and Planning to lead and develop the Finance and Planning teams and take responsibility for the management and investment of the University’s financial resources. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, they will provide advice to the Board, Executive Leadership Team and managers on all financial and business matters and ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met. They will be responsible for all matters relating to finance and planning including treasury management, determining budgets, project feasibilities, negotiations for funding, preparation of monthly management and annual account, procurement, and student number planning.
They will be an inspiring, energetic, and supportive individual with experience in financial management, service transformation, and cultural change within a complex organisation. The postholder will demonstrate the capacity to effectively translate their professional experience into our academic environment and to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a cohesive and agile service. We are seeking a highly motivated professional who shares a deep commitment to our values and will be a positive catalyst for change. Membership of a recognised accounting professional body is essential.
