Job Details

This is a unique opportunity for experienced advisers who want to work in a fast-paced environment where they can thrive and have a real impact. For those who want to break free of the traditional career structures of a professional services firm while still working with high-profile clients at the forefront of innovation we could be the perfect choice.

We’re ForrestBrown, a firm of chartered tax advisers specialising in research and development (R&D) tax. Our team has substantial experience and technical expertise in this field which, combined with our passion for our clients and entrepreneurial spirit, helps us deliver outstanding results for a wide portfolio of innovative clients.

Established in 2013, we have offices in both Bristol and London and are proud to be one of the largest specialist R&D tax teams in the UK.

As a tax manager, you’ll act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of clients and partners – there to advise, assist and update them on all aspects of R&D tax incentives. You’ll need to get to know our diverse client base inside and out, understanding the wider tax and commercial impact of the advice you give – both on your clients’ businesses and on the industry. You’ll be a proponent for excellence in all that you do, helping us to lead the way on providing a pre-eminent and unmatched level of service.

As well as bringing your experience in professional services and expertise in tax, we’re looking for someone who can contribute to our broader vision for our future.  That might be through helping to develop and mentor others, sharing your knowledge and helping us to grow the next generation of ForrestBrowners. You’ll also build relationships that help us to further develop our business, and deliver true value for our clients.

We’re looking for a commercially minded person with 2-3 years’ post-qualification experience. You’ll need to hold a relevant tax or accountancy qualification (CTA, ACA or equivalent), and have experience in tax (ideally corporate tax), but you don’t need to know all the specifics of R&D already – that’s something we can teach you. We’re a fast-paced, award-winning business and we need great people to take us to new heights. So, if you’re ambitious, eager to collaborate, have an eye for an opportunity, and a commercial mindset, you could just be our perfect match.

We welcome applications from candidates that would like to work flexibly. Here at ForrestBrown our amazing culture is built on collaboration, learning, celebrating success and being together but we also recognise that our people appreciate flexibility and the opportunity to deliver in their role their way. We are currently trialling a hybrid working model, with the opportunity to work from home regularly which we hope will support the benefits of being together as well as provide a more flexible approach to work.  If you would like to talk about opportunities to work flexibly here at ForrestBrown why not get in touch with our Talent team to discuss?

Company

We’re ForrestBrown, the UK’s leading research and development (R&D) tax consultancy. We build brilliant relationships with clients in exciting industries like aviation, technology, fashion and food. Our work helps clients use R&D tax relief strategically, uncovering the funds they need to move forward. That’s cash to put towards hiring new talent or creating something remarkable.

Our mission is to help innovative business make the most of R&D tax relief – but that doesn’t mean we fit the mould of the average tax firm.  We’re creative, driven and fiercely passionate about what we do. The first thing people notice about ForrestBrown is our culture.  We are proud to have created a culture around what we love, not what we think a tax firm should look like. We’re big believers in collaboration and know people work best when they’re supported and not siloed.  So while we have different skill sets, we all work together towards the same purpose: to deliver outstanding results for our clients. And we have fun along the way too.  Whether we are catching up over a beer at our in house bar or enjoying our weekly team lunches, it’s an environment we thrive in.

Our vibrant headquarters is based in Bristol, and you’ll also find us in London and Scotland too – so come and say hello.
