Your new role
The key purpose of this role is to manage, analyse and optimise Cash Management, Liquidity and Funding within the Treasury Front Office. Through ownership and development of reporting, deal execution, market insights and balance sheet analysis, the banks liquidity and funding will continue to be optimised and improved. The person will work under the leadership of the Head of Treasury Dealing.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Development and ownership of market research relating to funding and liquidity, providing insights and recommendations for consideration.
  • Reconcile, on a daily basis cash management positions and perform treasury front office dealer function with the best execution and control across all dealing requirements.
  • Determine the bank's liquidity and funding positions and advise on wholesale and retail funding strategy to stay within limits and avoid liquidity surplus.
  • Develop excellent relationships with market counterparties to ensure good primary and secondary market access for securitisation purchases.
  • Ownership of process and controls improvements, metric analysis and evaluation as well as daily risk assessment and responses.
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis and reporting from high level requirements.
  • Liaise with back office to ensure effective and efficient end to end execution and be responsible for process improvements and maintaining dealing procedure
  • Become fully conversant with all aspect of the Quantum treasury management system, and ensure it is developed to satisfy treasury front office
  • Provide joint support in the execution of interest rate hedging analysis and transactions including dealing swaps.
  • Maintain and develop key internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation's Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do.
  • Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation's Data Governance Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you treat data as an important corporate asset which must be protected and managed.
  • Maintain the company's compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience in employment avenues from the banking or building society sector is essential
  • 2 years' banking experience is essential from i) treasury front or middle office preferred or ii) risk management department
  • 2 years' experience of producing Asset Liability Management (ALM) management information reporting is essential
  • Good understanding of how a financial services treasury operates is essential
  • Strong mathematical understanding is essential
  • Basic level of interest in and knowledge of global financial markets is essential
  • Strong practical knowledge of advanced MS Excel is essential
  • An ability to produce meaningful management information is essential
  • Ability to plan and multitask is essential
  • Strong analytical skills is essential
  • Organised and attention to detail is essential
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related or numerate subject is essential

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience of asset liability management (ALM) or Interest Rate in Banking Book (IRRBB) experience gained in a banking environment is desirable
  • Experience in dealing financial instruments is desirable
  • Specialist experience of using treasury management system is desirable
  • Basic working knowledge of the Repo market is desirable
  • Detailed awareness of treasury settlement procedures is desirable
  • Relevant professional or treasury qualification or a willingness to study towards one e.g. Association of Corporate Treasurer (ACT) or accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA) is desirable
