Interim Financial Controller opportunity available. Public Sector Organisation based fully form home
Client Details
My client is a highly reward non departmental government body based in the London area, offering a fully remote role.
Description
The responsibilities of an Interim Financial Controller include but are not limited to:
- Relationship management of the external auditors and be the lead contact for internal auditors, where these relate to Reporting & Control activities
- Manage relationships and reporting across all pension schemes including annual returns
- Review and provide first level approval of monthly payroll
- Identify, understand and implement new reporting requirements, e.g. new accounting standards, updates to Financial Reporting Manual, new transaction types
- Member of the Cross Directorate Risk Group and Information Governance Committee
- Provide financial guidance and advice (including taxation advice) across the organisation
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or CIPFA) ESSENTIAL
- Build and maintain positive and constructive relationships with all levels of an organisation, DCMS and external auditors ESSENTIAL
- Experience of reporting under IFRS, Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) and Charity SORP ESSENTIAL
- Adaptive and responsive to change ESSENTIAL
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex messages and to successfully influence. ESSENTIAL
- Be immediately available or on a weeks notice period ESSENTIAL
- Have worked in a Public Sector organisation previously DESIRABLE
