Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be supporting a fantastic SME business based in Droitwich with the recruitment of a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

This award-winning company continues to go from strength-to-strength and, following new PE investment, have ambitious plans to triple their turnover over the next 3 years. As a result, they are seeking a qualified Accountant to support them on this journey and play a key part in their growth strategy.

Your new role
In this influential hands-on role, you will assume responsibility for key financial activities within the business overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and cashflow management. Alongside this, you will aid the Finance Director by driving the improvement of processes and procedures whilst supporting at Board level when required.

Main duties:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the finance department
  • Leading the month-end process, organising the team and ensuring tasks are completed to deadline
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany account reconciliations
  • Monthly consolidation of all Group subsidiaries
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of annual statutory accounts and audit
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Manage all cash flows, overseeing credit control and supplier payments
  • Develop and maintain appropriate accounting measures and controls
  • Manage the foreign exchange risk
  • Motivate and lead a team of 2 across sales and purchase ledger
  • Support the FD with ad-hoc projects as and when required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Previous experience of supporting at a senior level in a fast-paced SME environment
  • Retail/FMCG background highly desirable
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • People management skills with the ability to lead, train, coach and develop
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills
  • Proficient with accounting packages (SAP Business One preferred)
