A VAT Senior Manager to join an acquisitive and reputable firm based in Cardiff. A highly successful practice firm that has experienced impressive growth over the last year. The firm acts for wide ranging clients in turnovers and size from smaller, start up, entrepreneurial businesses through to larger corporates, AIM listed and significant sized groups, with a wide ranging OMB client base across varying industries. Alongside this, the firm has a strong private client, wealth and estate group acting for HMWIs trusts and business both in the UK and overseas. The range of clients within the firm offers a real variety and breadth of complex and interesting work to get involved with, providing a challenging and interesting client base to work with. The environment offers a more team focused approach; a very collaborative and enjoyable practice environment to work in.

Description

The key responsibilities for this VAT Senior Manager position at a leading accountancy firm based in Cardiff are:

• You will be responsible for leading the day to day duties of your team.
• You will need to support all levels of team members with their technical research, reviewing their work and ensuring clients are managed not only efficiently but effectively with proactive ad reactive advice.
• You will also be managing a portfolio of more complex clients, through investigations and beyond, to provide peace of mind and technical support when they need it most.
• You will be encouraged to network with wider VAT teams within the business to ensure you are working on a National level to service clients and keep technical expertise current.
• As part of the management team, your journey will continue via mentorship by the senior management team in both your local office and wider network to provide soft skills development such as more effective client management and staff management. Personal coaching will continue as your journey continues beyond formal qualifications which can be tailored to your own individual aspirations.

Profile

In order for candidates to be successful when applying for this VAT Senior Manager role at a leading accountancy firm in Cardiff, you must be:

• Experience of working within VAT gained from either an accountancy practice or HMRC environment. Ideally you will be CTA qualified, but this isn't essential.
• Experience of managing a diverse portfolio of VAT clients across multiple sectors
• People Management Experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at all levels.
