Risk and Assurance Accountant, Permanent, up to £55,000 + 17.5% bonus

Our client are a large, national market leading Insurance business, and they are seeking a Risk and Assurance Accountant on a permanent basis.

Your new role
As the Risk and Assurance Accountant you will carry out first line risk-based assurance reviews, that add value and provide assurance and oversight over key risks faced by the Finance Division to senior management.

Further responsibilities of the role include:

• Preparing and issuing high quality first line assurance reports to senior management that record the findings and recommendations to remedy risk and control weaknesses in accordance with group and departmental standards, regulatory requirements and SLAs.
• Developing an enhanced control framework in collaboration with Group Compliance, Group Internal Audit and Prudential Compliance & Operational Risk.
• Performing assurance activity where risk events & near misses have occurred, leading to the identification & implementation of an enhanced control environment & non-recurrence of issues.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues in Group Compliance, Group Internal Audit and Prudential Compliance & Operational Risk to promote collaborative working and to provide appropriate, co-ordinated assurance activity within the Finance Division.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a CIA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified Accountant with prior experience in a risk-based auditing role. You will have experience managing and influencing stakeholders and have effective report writing and presentation skills.
SOX experience is desirable but not a pre-requisite.
