A bit about the role...

You will be joining an experienced Finance team to play a critical role in month-end and year-end financial reporting. Our Finance team is currently predominantly based in Newcastle however you will be able to work from any of our UK offices locations excluding London & Manchester.

The role will report to Terri Edmondson, Senior Financial Reporting Manager, and will involve provision of accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis of performance to date in order to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders such as the Department, HM Treasury, Homes England Senior Executive & individual Agency Directorates. 

The role also offers an exciting opportunity to support system development which enables improved processes, assurance and data availability as well as the implementation of a new ERP system.

You will be expected to work in an agile and flexible way, which will also involve collaboration with various teams and directorates. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growing, national organisation with a real social purpose.

A bit about you…

You'll be a recognised professional accountant, qualified with an ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or have other equivalent qualification. As an experienced finance professional, you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

You'll have an excellent eye for detail and be able to meet strict deadlines with a demonstrable track record in financial reporting and experience of year-end or month-end accounts closure.

Being responsible for the production of monthly/quarterly financial performance data and annual financial accounting information, you will have advanced data interrogation and analytical skills and be proficient in the writing of reports.

You'll be comfortable challenging the status quo to improve processes and look to improve the quality and efficiency of outputs as well as being excellent at report writing and have good analysis and IT skills.

You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level with the ability to negotiate and persuade, and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a finance team.
